Because it's a great opportunity to re-evaluate undervalued players

kids grow and mature, a kid at 17 might grow up to be a solid young man at 19. Look at Mutts and Aluma, they were not ACC level players out of HS, but a couple years later Mike saw something. Built a great team around them. A coach that can find the right talent that is a little older, a little more mature and has shown they are willing to work and develop can do just what Mike has done.

Portal is a great opportunity, if you look at it as a way to bring in better players and let those that don't live up to their expectations find opportunities elsewhere rather than a place where a kid spurns you for greener pastures.
